Travelling for surgery, done carefully.
About a third of Dr. Marsh's patients travel from outside Los Angeles. The process is built so that distance never shortcuts the examination, the recovery, or the follow-up.
Video consultation
Forty-five minutes with Dr. Marsh, with photographs sent beforehand. You receive a preliminary plan and written quote. The $250 fee is credited toward surgery.
Planning
A coordinator arranges pre-operative labs near you, medical clearance where needed, and recovery accommodation: a partner hotel, a recovery suite with nursing, or a furnished apartment for longer stays.
Arrive two days before
In-person examination and final plan, consent signed in person, prescriptions filled, and a tour of the surgery center. Surgery is confirmed only after this visit.
Surgery and the first week
Overnight nursing where recommended. Dr. Marsh sees you on day one or two and again before you are cleared to travel, usually 7 to 14 days after surgery depending on the procedure.
Follow-up from home
Video visits at two weeks, six weeks, three months, six months, and a year. A colleague near you is arranged in advance for anything that needs hands.
