The consultation

Ninety minutes that decide everything.

The consultation is not a sales appointment. It is where the operation is designed, or where you are told, kindly and clearly, that an operation is not the right answer. $250, credited in full toward surgery.

  1. Before you arrive

A short questionnaire about health, medications, and what you are hoping for. Photographs of yourself from ten years ago are useful for facial procedures. Previous surgical records are requested for revision cases.

  2. Minutes 0 to 20: your story

Dr. Marsh listens before she examines. What bothers you, since when, what you have tried, what you are afraid of. Your words, not a menu.

  3. Minutes 20 to 45: examination and photographs

Standardised photographs and measurements. Skin quality, tissue, symmetry, and the things that shape the plan. For rhinoplasty and breast surgery, a simulation on your own images.

  4. Minutes 45 to 75: the plan

Technique, what it will and will not change, the risks specific to you, the recovery week by week, and alternatives, including doing nothing. Questions are expected.

  5. Minutes 75 to 90: the fee and the calendar

A written quote with the surgeon's fee, facility, anesthesia, garments or implants, and a year of follow-up. Available dates. No pressure to decide that day; most people don't.

  6. Afterward

The written plan is sent the same day. A second visit or call to go over questions is included. About one consultation in five ends with a recommendation not to operate.

Out of town? Start by video.

A 45-minute video consultation with photographs sent in advance produces a preliminary plan and quote. An in-person examination is required before a surgery date is confirmed, usually two days before the operation.
